Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Paneer Bhurji
- Heat oil or ghee in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add finely chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. Sauté for another minute until fragrant.
- Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften and release oil.
- Mix in the turmeric powder, red chili powder, and garam masala. Stir well.
- Add the crumbled paneer and bell peppers (if using), and sauté for 2-3 minutes until the paneer absorbs all the spices.
- If you’re using peas, add them now and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Adjust salt to taste and stir in fresh coriander leaves for a fresh burst of flavor.
- Remove from heat and set aside.
Step 2: Toast the Bread
- Heat a griddle or tawa over medium heat.
- Spread butter generously on both sides of each bread slice. If desired, sprinkle oregano and chili flakes on the buttered side for extra flavor.
- Place the bread slices on the griddle and toast until golden and crispy on both sides. Flip carefully to avoid burning.
- Remove from heat and set aside.
Step 3: Assemble the Paneer Bhurji Toast
- Take a slice of the toasted bread and spread a generous layer of paneer bhurji on top. Press gently to ensure the mixture sticks.
- You can serve it open-faced or add another toasted slice on top to make a sandwich.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve with a wedge of lemon on the side.
Serve and Enjoy
- Serve Paneer Bhurji Toast Temptation hot with a side of tangy tomato ketchup or green chutney for an irresistible snack.
